Feliz Navidad! In Spanish class this week we are celebrating the birth of Jesus. We learned the names of the characters in the Christmas story and watched a short video all in Spanish. The younger grades made their own Nacimiento. The older grades read this Christmas poem.
Hello! I hope all the students had a restful break. After missing the past two Thanksgivings, it was a blessing to be able to celebrate with my family this year. Fitting for this time of year, we are continuing the learn about the family. The younger grades learned a new song to practice their new words. They also had a blast dressing up as the different family members. One girl in each class got to show us how a Guatemalan mama carries her baby with a cloth tied around her back. Just like a real mama, they were able to walk around without dropping their baby! The older students are learning Plural and Singular Articles, and practicing them with the Family vocabulary. All classes have begun to learn vocabulary about the family. The younger students created houses that showed their own families. The older students put together family trees that demonstrated something special about each member of their family.
