Happy Fall! It's been three years since I've been able to be in Wisconsin for this season change. I'm enjoying the leaves starting to change, the geese migrating overhead, and even the cooler temperatures again!
This week in Spanish, the younger grade continued to practice colors. We also discussed how God understands us no matter in what language we pray. God understands us in Spanish, in English, in Chinese, in any language! He created different languages.
The 3rd and 4th grades started to learn the map of South America. We will be studying which countries speak Spanish. Not even including indigenous languages, there are 4 main World Languages spoken in South American countries.
In 5th and 6th grade we chose Spanish names today. This is always a fun part of learning a language! They are also learning weather expressions. Their homework this week is to complete their index cards with drawings for each weather expression we learned. These are:
Hace calor. Hace buen tiempo.
Hace fri'o. Hace mal tiempo.
Hace viento.
Hace sol.
3rd graders - 6th grades received a little rhyme to start practicing. It teaches the pronunciation of the Spanish vowels as well as how to say your age.
A E I O U
Amiguito de Peru
Yo tengo ___ años.
Cua'ntos ¿ años tienes tu'?
